Making a Prototype
Business Blog week 3- Making a prototype
Now it’s time to covert that brilliant business idea into an actual product or service. This stage is vital in collating all the research that you have made and then collaborating it together to form a prototype. What we mean by a prototype is a sample, drawing, presentation or a replica of the final product design itself. A prototype can be:
· A website
· A product
Many business ideas require lots of time, money and effort to properly develop. So, when making a prototype it is advisable to initially develop a basic version, with the aim of satisfying that visionary idea. Whether the intended design is just made of cardboard or drawn on a piece of paper it is still a step in the right direction.
Another step to making a prototype is getting into contact with the necessary players of the business. When developing this prototype make sure you take notes of any people that play a part in the development. So, when it comes to developing the product you now know where to go for the actual product or website development.
However, at this point of the business idea process investment could be necessary to help formulate the business concept. Your research should now confirm that there is a need for your new product in the market. So, now it’s time to invest more capital into the venture, which raises the levels of risk due to financial exposure, but also increases the chances of success.
This is by far the most stressful period of the new product development process and stages at this point it all becomes that bit more real. On the other hand, this stage can result in the highest level of satisfaction because the product or service begins to exist.
The goal of a prototype is to evaluate an idea.
